We host 8-10 weekend workshops for adults each season, held in the spring and the fall. Our workshop selection balances our organization’s focus on hands-on natural history with the unique opportunities for solitude and reflection that our remote site offers.
All of our workshops are professionally-taught by local experts in their field who are passionate about providing learning opportunities at Opal Creek. Workshop fees include shared lodging and meals in our fabulous kitchen. Lodging varies by workshop; all participants will share a room with 1-3 others, and all participants will need to bring a sleeping bag.
Workshops begin at the Opal Creek trailhead at either 10 AM or 5 PM (varies by workshop). Workshop instructors and participants hike 3 miles into Jawbone Flats. All luggage and gear is driven in on our gear shuttle; 10 AM workshop participants will need to bring a lunch for the hike in. Upon registration, participants will receive by email pre-trip packets with packing lists, itineraries, and camp policies.
Adult workshop participants must be 16 years or older.
