Workshops

Workshops

We strive to provide “educational experiences in wilderness,” and to that end we also offer educational workshops for the whole family. Throughout our season we provide two-day, one-night educational workshops with various natural history and inspirational themes.

Leave the rush of everyday life and enter a world where time moves differently. Join fellow travelers on an adventure, exploring this amazing place through a variety of mediums. Whether interested in honing your skills, opening your mind, understanding the natural world, or sharing a life-changing experience with friends and family, workshops at Opal Creek will fulfill your expectations.

At Opal Creek, we strive to have something for everyone. Our Family Workshops are designed as an opportunity for young and old alike to enjoy the ancient forest together. These workshops focus on a specific niche of the Ancient Forest and we examine our surroundings in the ecosystem through a variety of fun activities and adventuress. 2013 Family Workshops include Amphibian Adventure and Raptors of the Western Cascades. For more on our Family Workshops, read Portland Family Adventures article on our past season’s Family Insect Workshop here.

We also have a variety of workshops for adults ranging in topics from wilderness medicine to yoga to fly fishing. We are sure you will find something that interests you as you peruse our 2013 schedule. All workshops are professionally taught and the price includes shared lodging plus meals from our fabulous kitchen.
