We are thrilled to present a new and exciting slate of workshops and expeditions for 2017! We are also currently accepting cabin reservations.
In 2017 we’re offering brand-new ways for you and your family to experience the ancient forest, with two tree-climbing workshops led by our friends at Expedition Old Growth! These workshops–one for families and one just for adults–will let a small, lucky group up into the fascinating but little-seen world of the old-growth canopy.
We’re also excited to be offering two sessions of our popular Painting and Ancient Forest Yoga workshops! Both workshops sold out last year so if you missed it, this is your chance. Our mixed-media painting workshop will offer both a spring and a fall session; and our yoga retreat will offer a three-day spring option and a four-day fall option.
Finally, our every-other-year Mosses, Lichens, and Liverworts workshop returns in April. This is a fascinating, in-depth exploration of the dozens of bryophyte species that keep Opal Creek lush and healthy.

We’re really excited about our new workshops, but we’re even more excited about our new expeditions!
This year for the first time ever we have permits for the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness! We’re offering two trips to Mt. Jeff, one for 12-14 year olds, and an extended trip for our older campers.
We’re also offering our first ever ladies-only expedition, Ladies of the Cascades! This trip will be a safe and comfortable experience for all female-identifying teens. Tap into your inner mountain woman with this adventure in the Opal Creek and Bull of the Woods Wildernesses!
And finally, we have a brand-new three-day camp for 8-10 year-olds! Junior Basecamp is the perfect way to launch your child onto a path of wilderness adventure at Opal Creek that will last through high school–and will stay with them forever.
