Family Workshop: Crafting with Wild Mushrooms

Saturday, October 27, 2018 – Sunday, October 28, 2018

Did you know mushrooms aren’t just food—they’re also used in handcrafts? Join us on a wild mushroom foray focused on species that produce pigments and fibers. Use your found specimens to dye items such as silk and yarn, craft watercolor paints and crayons, and make paper for card making. Families will go home with their own handmade items that can be used for holiday gifts!

John and Myra Villella have been getting to know the mushrooms of Opal Creek for almost two decades and are excited to share the mysteries of the fungal kingdom in this new family workshop.
