lie 3 miles deep in the Opal Creek Wilderness. Our guests walk in along the North Fork of the Santiam River, beneath the ancient firs and past rusting reminders of the canyon’s mining history. Off-the-grid and disconnected, spend your time with us hiking, swimming, relaxing, and letting the wilderness change you.

Amenities

All of our cabins are equipped with potable water, water heater, and electricity, and are heated by wood stove (firewood provided) or baseboard heaters.  All beds are provided with a bottom sheet, pillow and pillow case, but guests will need to bring their own sleeping bags or warm bedding. Guests are also responsible for bringing their own bath towels. Our main kitchen offers healthy, hearty vegetarian meals for a reasonable price; each cabin kitchen is also equipped with a refrigerator, stove top and oven as well as basic cookware, dishes, utensils and flatware. Please note that dogs are not allowed inside our buildings or for overnight stays.

Each cabin party has the option of registering for one of our twice-daily gear shuttles to carry your luggage into Jawbone Flats. However, we encourage you to consider hiking in your gear and helping us achieve our goals of reduced road traffic and less reliance on fossil fuels. Any cabin party who forgoes the use of a gear shuttle will be thanked with a trip discount of $40 in the summer season or $20 in the shoulder season.

These 1-2 hour hands-on activity sessions will focus on a variety of topics aimed at bringing kids and adults face-to-face with the Opal Creek ecosystem.

*We do not offer workshop registration fee discounts for cabin renters wishing to take part in any other program occurring during their stay.  Full workshop fees will apply.
